Lt Gen Giri Raj Singh was commissioned into the Army Ordnance Corps in December 1981. He has a brilliant scholastic background with Masters in Botony, Defence Management and Management Studies and an M Phil in Strategic Studies. He is an alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College, Willington, College of Defence Management, Secunderabad, and the National Defence College, New Delhi. The General Officer has excelled in all mandatory military courses. He specialised in Ammunition Management and holds vast experience of Logistics Management in the field army.
The General Officer commanded a Divisional Ordnance Unit in Counter Insurgency environment in Jammu & Kashmir and also the prestigious Central Ordnance Depot, Jabalpur. He has also held many prestigious staff appointment notably amongst them being DAQMG of a Division, Staff Officer (Logistics) in Force Headquarters of United Nations in Somalia, Colonel GS (SD/WE) of a Corps, Brig OS of a Corps in the Eastern Command, MGAOC Eastern Command and GOC Bengal Area.
The General Officer was appointed as the Director General Ordnance Services in Jun 2017 from where he superannuated on 31 Jan 2019.
